Baptisms on Easter

  • Google Calendar ICS

WHAT IS BAPTISM? Baptism is a public declaration of faith for the individual who has received Christ’s saving work and become His disciple. Disciples are baptized by water immersion following Christ's example (Mark 1:9-13) as an act of obedience (Matthew 28:18-20) and a testimony of faith to oneself, the church, and God that they are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17) and that they desire to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4). Our next baptisms will take place on Easter.

Each person being baptized will be given a few seconds to share about why they want to be baptized that day. There will be a slide on the screen with a picture of you and your baptism verse. You will be baptized by a pastor/elder, but you may also have a discipler you are close with join in to be a part of baptizing you. Such as a parent, friend, GC leader, etc.

WHAT'S NEXT? Please fill out the registration form.

You will be contacted by a pastor/elder before Easter.

You will receive a link for a Zoom call the week leading up to Easter to work out logistics for the baptisms.

Family Lent Devotional
Mar

to Apr 20

Family Lent Devotional

We’ve created this Lent Family Devotional to encourage you and your family to center your hearts on Jesus and prepare to celebrate the miracle of his resurrection this Easter. Our elders wrote a devotion for each of the six weeks of Lent about Prayer. We’ll be exploring what the Bible says about prayer, why we pray and how we pray. Our hope is that this resource will be another tool for you and your family to grow in your love and knowledge of who God is, what He has done, and who we get to be because of it.

A printed copy of the devotional will be available at church while supplies last! We also have a pdf version available HERE.

Churchwide Fasting and Prayer

to Apr 20

Churchwide Fasting and Prayer

Beginning the week of March 9th, Sufficient Grace Church will enter a 6-week fast and prayer journey leading up to Easter. Each Tuesday (March 11, 18, 25, April 1, 8, 15), we’ll fast from food until dinner, using our meal times to pray for God’s movement in our hearts and community. After the fast, join us for a pastor-led prayer session on Zoom from 8:00-9:00 pm. This fast is an opportunity to seek more of God’s grace and ask for the salvation of those far from Him. If fasting from food isn’t an option for you, choose an alternative like social media or caffeine.

If you would like any resources on fasting, we would recommend Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life by Donald S. Whitney and Habits of Grace by David Mathis.

Let’s come together, seek God’s grace, and make our hearts ready for Easter!

Join our Zoom at 8pm here

Connecting The Gospel Summit

Connecting The Gospel Summit

It’s one thing to know the Gospel – the life, death, and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. But it’s another thing entirely to know how to articulate the transformational power of the Gospel to ourselves and to those around us.

Becoming fluent in the Gospel is an important way believers in Jesus can fulfill their mission to share the Gospel with a lost and dying world, to promote personal spiritual growth, and to pour into others and ourselves to know Jesus and make Him known. Much like learning a foreign language, becoming fluent in speaking the Gospel takes time, practice, and repetition.

Sufficient Grace Church will host the first annual Connecting the Gospel Summit. This year, we will have a topic focused on parenting. At the summit, we will walk through the concept of gospel fluency and tools to help empower every believer to boldly proclaim the Gospel in everyday situations. We will then take time to walk through how the Gospel impacts our parenting.

WHEN: Saturday, September 21: 9am-1pm
